I am Lakshmi Ambady.
You can call me LA.
A traveller who happens to be an Engineer and a published poet, painting, designing and photographing on the side. I founded Layasthana, my design studio in 2020, in an attempt to offer the world stunning creatives that aim to bridge the gap between art and design.
I am in love with the Moon and so, many of my paintings showcases various phases and colours of Her. Being a poet, most inspiration is drawn from this entity that is so mysterious and mystical. The word "Laya" actually means "rhythm" in Sanskrit, which certainly resonates with the journey of the Moon around our planet. And therefore, the blue circle represents the Moon and "La" stands for Layasthana and of course, the initials of my name.
Also a Graphic Designer, specialising in Branding, Iconography and Web design. Again, have been fortunate to work with several upcoming brands to create for them appealing and functional logos and design systems.
Something that has been an integral part of me growing up. My eyes are naturally drawn to lights and shadows, unique shapes and geometry, nature, faces and textures. I try to bring into my photographs what otherwise a common eye may miss.
