According to Tantra Shastra, man is a microcosm. Whatever exists in the universe exists in the human body as well. All the principles and worlds are within him and in him dwells the supreme energy traditionally and reverentially called Shiva-shakti.

As a diagram, the Shri Chakra is very eye catching and powerful. It is constructed with an intersection of nine triangles. Four of these triangles are pointing upward and five downward. The four upward-pointing triangles are Shiva triangles and the five downward-pointing triangles are Shakti triangles. A combination of these nine triangles makes Shri Yantra the most dynamic of all yantras.

Shri Yantra represents the body of Goddess Lalitha Tripurasundari. In the Bhairavayamala Tantra, this yantra is known to be shape of the cosmos. In the Kamakalavilas, it is said that the Sri Yantra is constructed on the same principles on which human organism is constructed.
