Lalitā Devī is the red-hued, resplendent goddess seated on a throne that is held up by Brahmā the creator, Viṣṇu the sustainer, Rudra the destroyer, and Īśāna the concealer. The throne’s seat is Sadāśiva the revealer, and Devī sits atop this emanation of Śiva, in sexual union with him.
