Gautam Buddha did not leave behind him any successor. His last words were, “Don’t make my statues, don’t collect my words. I don’t want to become a symbol which has to be worshipped. My deepest longing is that you will not be imitators. You don’t have to be Buddhists because your own potential is to be a buddha.”
-Osho, “No Mind: The Flowers of Eternity, #3”

Tomorrow is Buddha Pournami, the day when Gautama Siddhartha was born in the body, attained enlightenment, became the Buddha, the ultimate peak of consciousness, the ultimate relaxation of being and left the body i.e. attained Mahaparinirvana. All the three utmost important events of His life i.e. birth, enlightenment and death, happened on the full moon of Hindu month of Vaisakha.

Blessed Pournami to all :)
