The Rise of AI and the Power of Human Intuition
We are at a crossroads. The rise of artificial intelligence is reshaping the world as we know it, and suddenly, there is this looming question: Where does human intelligence stand in all of this? It almost feels like a competition, AI versus human intelligence, but that is only if we define intelligence in a very limited way.
Because when I talk about intelligence, I am not talking about intellect, or memory, or the ability to process large amounts of information. AI does that effortlessly. What I am talking about is something deeper, something uniquely human. Intuition.
What is Intuition?
Somewhere along the way, intuition has been dismissed as something mystical, something unreliable. But in reality, intuition is just perception sharpened over time. It is the ability to recognize patterns before your mind even consciously registers them. It is deep self-awareness. It is years of subconscious learning coming together in an instant.
Think about it. When you walk into a room, you immediately get a sense of the energy, the people, the atmosphere, without anyone saying a word. When you are designing, sometimes you just know what works before you can even explain why. That is not magic.
That is intuition.
And that is something AI cannot do.
How Do We Develop This?
If intuition is such a powerful skill, how do we refine it? How do we make sure that, in this new era of technology, we do not lose the very thing that makes us human?
1. Pay Attention to the Details
Start by training your mind to notice. Textures, colors, interactions, body language. The world is constantly offering information beyond words. Most people just are not looking. The more you sharpen your awareness, the stronger your intuition becomes.
2. Be in Nature
Nature operates on patterns, cycles, and rhythms, things AI can analyze but never truly feel. When you spend time in nature, you start tuning into these patterns instinctively. There is a reason why some of the best creative ideas come when you are taking a walk or sitting by the ocean.
3. Meditation and Stillness
Intuition is not loud. It is not trying to prove itself. It is that quiet knowing that you can only hear when everything else settles down. Meditation helps train your mind to pause, to observe, and to trust the deeper layers of awareness that are always there. AI can process data, but it cannot sit in stillness and just be. That is something only you can do.
Why This Matters Now
Right now, AI is advancing rapidly. It is learning, adapting, and producing. But it is missing one key thing, life. AI does not have lived experience. It does not have the ability to sense beyond data points. It does not have intuition.
That is why, as artists, designers, and creators, our biggest strength is not in trying to outmatch AI in logic or speed. It is in leaning into what AI can never replace, our perception, our ability to feel the world, and our intuition.
So the real challenge is not about competing with AI. It is about making sure that, in this technological wave, we do not lose touch with the intelligence that has been within us all along.
